You have a chicken, a fox and a sack of corn. You must get them from one side of a lake to the other in a boat but can only take one at a time. The chicken cannot be left with the fox or it will be eaten, and it cannot be left with the corn or it will eat that. How do you cross the river with these things?

take the chicken across first. then, drop off the chicken and go back to pick up the seed. bring the seed across the river. now take the chicken back and exchange it for the fox. bring the fox to the other side. now go back and get the chicken to the other side.
